Renewal of Credentials
ACC Renewal
ACC credentials awarded on or after January 19, 2008 are valid for a three-year period and may be renewed by meeting the requirements listed below.
Renewal Session
ACC, PCC and MCC renewal applications will be accepted between November 1, 2008 – December 31, 2008. All renewal applications must be post-marked by December 31, 2008. Applications should not be sent prior to November 1, 2008.
ACC, PCC and MCC credentials are valid for the three-year period following the coach's initial certification or latest renewal. A PCC or MCC credential must be renewed by December 31 of the year the credential expires. For example, a PCC or MCC awarded in 2005 must be renewed by December 31, 2008.
Renewal Requirements
- Submit renewal application with appropriate documentation
- Documented participation in a minimum of 40 hours of Continuing Coach Education (CCE) over the three-year period since initial certification or last renewal.
- A minimum of 24 CCE hours must directly relate to the ICF Core Competencies.
- The remaining 16 CCE hours must relate to either the ICF Core Competencies or to i) the personal development of the coach, ii) the development of the coach's practice or iii) skills or tools that are directly applicable to coaching.
For ACC renewals:
- In addition to the CCE requirements listed above, ACC renewal candidates must also submit proof of an additional 10 hours of Mentor Coaching above those hours required for thier initial certification. Please see the renewal application for details.
Continuing Coach Education
The following qualify as Continuing Coach Education:
The following do not qualify as Continuing Coach Education:
- Individual and group coaching.
- Courses and seminars taught from a therapeutic perspective.
- Undergraduate or post-graduate university classes unless they fall within the definition of Coach Specific Training.
